About This Tool
Calculate averages and GPA in four modes: simple mean, GPA based on course credits, weighted average, and a full statistics summary with median, mode, standard deviation and range. No install, no signup.
It is most used for working out a term GPA before the official result is published, a school average where subjects carry different weights, and plain grade averaging. It handles non-academic work too: monthly sales averages, the average of a few price quotes, or checking the spread of a column of numbers copied out of Excel.
Results update instantly without pressing a button. Numbers can be separated by commas, spaces or new lines, and clicking any result copies that value. The numbers you enter never leave your device.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate my GPA?
Open the "GPA" tab and enter the score and credit hours for each course. The GPA and total credits are calculated automatically. The course name is optional and only for your own reference.
Can I calculate a school average with it?
Yes. If subjects carry weights, enter the weight instead of the credit hours in the "GPA" tab. If every subject counts equally, just enter the scores in the "Simple Mean" tab.
How do I enter a long list of numbers?
In the "Simple Mean" tab, type each number and press Enter or comma to add it as a tag. You can also paste a whole column copied from Excel; numbers separated by spaces, commas, semicolons or new lines are all picked up.
How do I add or remove a row?
Use "Add course" in the GPA tab and "Add row" in the weighted average tab. To delete one, press the remove button on that row. There is no limit on the number of rows.
How do I copy a result?
Click the result value itself and it is copied to your clipboard.
What does "Total credits cannot be zero" mean?
It means no course has credit hours, or they are all zero. A GPA cannot be computed without credits, so fill in the credit hours for each course. The weighted average tab shows the same thing as a message about weights.
I see "No valid numbers found". What is wrong?
Nothing you entered was read as a number, usually because of a stray letter or symbol next to a value. Clear the inputs and enter numbers only.
Does it accept decimals?
Yes. Both 17.5 with a dot and the Persian decimal separator are accepted, and output follows the language of the page.
What is the difference between simple mean and weighted average?
In a simple mean every number counts equally: sum them and divide by the count. In a weighted average each value has a weight; for a GPA, each course is weighted by its credit hours. The formula is the sum of (value × weight) divided by the sum of weights.
How are the median and mode different from the mean?
The mean is sensitive to outliers, and one very large or small value shifts it. The median is the middle value of the sorted list and is more robust. The mode is the most frequent value. The "Full Statistics" tab shows all three side by side.
Why does the mode say "no single mode"?
It means no value in your list repeats more than the others, so there is no distinct mode.
What does standard deviation tell me?
How spread out the numbers are around the mean. A small value means they cluster close to the mean; a large value means they are spread out. This uses the sample standard deviation formula (dividing by n−1), so if you see a different figure elsewhere it was probably computed with the population formula.
Do you have a percentage calculator too?
Yes. For increases, decreases and taking a percentage of a number, see the percentage calculator on this site.
