About This Tool
The loan and deposit calculator does two jobs on one page: it works out your loan installment and it works out the interest on a bank deposit. Enter the amount and the rate, and the result appears right on the page, with no installation and no signup.
It is most useful before you sign anything: installments on an interest-free (qarz al-hasaneh) loan such as a marriage loan, a car or appliance loan, a bank loan with a down payment, or a comparison between two offers with different rates and terms. The deposit section shows what your money earns over a given period and how much simple and compound interest differ.
On the loan side you pick the loan type (regular or qarz al-hasaneh), subtract a down payment, choose a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual payment interval, and read the amortization table showing principal, interest and remaining balance for every installment. The numbers you type never leave your device and nothing is stored.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate a loan installment?
In the loan section, enter the loan amount, the annual interest rate as a percentage, and the repayment period in months, then press Calculate. You get the installment amount, the total interest and the total repayment.
How do I calculate a marriage loan installment?
Marriage loans in Iran are qarz al-hasaneh, charging a fee instead of interest. Set the loan type to qarz al-hasaneh, enter the loan amount and repayment period, and type the annual fee rate; bank qarz al-hasaneh fees are usually 4% per year.
How do I enter a down payment?
Type it in the down payment field. It is subtracted from the loan amount and the installments are calculated on the remainder only. Leave the field empty if your loan has no down payment.
Can I calculate quarterly or annual installments?
Yes. Use the payment interval option to pick quarterly, semi-annual or annual. A twelve-month loan with a quarterly interval becomes four installments, and the result label changes accordingly.
What does the message about the term being a multiple of the interval mean?
The repayment period has to divide evenly by the payment interval so the number of installments is a whole number. With a quarterly interval, use 12, 24 or 36 months rather than 10.
How do I calculate deposit interest?
Go to the deposit section and enter the deposit amount, the annual rate and the period in months. You get the earned interest, the monthly interest and the final balance, and switching the interest type between simple and compound shows both cases.
What does the amortization table show?
For each installment it shows how much goes to principal, how much to interest or fee, and how much debt is left afterwards. It makes clear whether the early payments go mostly to interest or to principal.
Which rate should I enter?
The rate written in your contract or quoted by the branch. Approved rates change over time, so enter the real rate of your own loan or deposit instead of relying on a default.
What is the difference between simple and compound interest?
With simple interest, interest applies only to the original deposit. With compound interest, each month's interest is added to the principal and the next month's interest applies to the larger total, so the final balance is higher.
How does a qarz al-hasaneh loan differ in the calculation?
A regular loan applies bank interest, while a qarz al-hasaneh loan charges a fee instead, which is usually a much smaller number. The result is labelled as the total fee paid rather than total interest.
Why is the result slightly different from the bank's figure?
This calculation covers principal plus interest or fee only. Banks may add insurance, issuance fees and appraisal costs to the installment, which pushes the final contract figure a little higher.
Are the financial details I enter stored anywhere?
No. The loan amount, rate and other numbers never leave your device, and nothing remains once you close the page.
