Enter a page URL and see the title, description and image that show up when its link is shared on Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn or X. The preview card is rendered the way social networks render it. No install, no sign-up.
The usual moment for this is just before publishing: you have put up a blog post or product page and want to be sure the link does not go out with no image and the wrong title, or you have just changed your tags and want to see the result. Checking other people's links works too, for instance to see what titles and descriptions a competitor puts on their pages.
Below the preview card, a table lists every tag found with a copy button next to each value, so you can see exactly what the page declares. When Open Graph tags are missing, Twitter Card tags are used, and failing that the page's ordinary title and meta description.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check a link?
Paste the full page URL into the box at the top and press Check. A moment later the preview card and the tag table appear.
What is Open Graph?
A set of meta tags in the page source that decide which title, description and image appear when the link is shared. Nearly every social network and messenger follows it, so without these tags each platform shows something different.
How is Twitter Card different from Open Graph?
They are similar tags defined for Twitter (X). If a page has no Twitter Card tags, the Open Graph ones are normally used instead, so having both is not required but does no harm.
My preview is empty or incomplete. Why?
The page has no Open Graph or Twitter Card tags. In that case the ordinary title and description are used and no image is shown. The fix is to add og:title, og:description and og:image to the page source.
The image does not appear in the card
Usually the URL inside og:image cannot be opened: it is relative instead of absolute, the file is gone, or it sits behind a login. Copy that tag's value from the table below and open it directly in your browser to see whether it really loads.
I changed my tags but it still shows the old preview
Each URL's result is kept for up to 5 minutes, and during that time a note above the card says it came from the cache. Check again in a few minutes to get a fresh read.
I fixed my tags but Telegram still sends the old preview
Social platforms cache previews themselves, often for a long time. This tool tells you what the page declares right now; to clear their cache you need that platform's own debugging tool.
What size should the Open Graph image be?
1200 by 630 pixels is a safe choice and displays uncropped almost everywhere. If your image is a different shape, use the image crop tool to bring it to that ratio.
How long should the title and description be?
Around 60 characters for the title and around 150 for the description; beyond that, cards cut the text with an ellipsis. What you see in the table is exactly what social networks read.
Can I check local or intranet addresses?
No. Only pages reachable on the public internet are fetched, and addresses such as localhost are rejected. If your site is not published yet, it has to be on a public URL first.
I got a request timeout error
The target page did not answer in time; it may be slow, temporarily down, or blocking non-browser visitors. Try again in a moment.
Is there a limit on how many links I can check?
Yes, up to 30 checks an hour. Results served from the cache do not count, so re-checking the same URL shortly after costs you nothing.
Are the URLs I enter stored?
Each URL's result stays in a short-lived cache for a few minutes so repeated checks are faster, then it is removed. Nothing else about you is kept.
