Question 1

How do I write a number in Persian words?

Accepted Answer

Stay in the “Number to Words” mode, type the amount, and pick the unit with the “Toman” or “Rial” chip; the Persian wording appears instantly with the unit attached, ready to copy onto a cheque or an invoice.

Question 2

How do I turn an amount in words back into a number?

Accepted Answer

Switch to “Words to Number” and type the amount the way it is said or written, for example “two million five hundred thousand Toman”. Colloquial spellings are recognised, and writing the word Toman or Rial sets the unit for you.

Question 3

How do I convert Rials to Tomans?

Accepted Answer

Enter the figure and set the unit to “Rial”; the Toman equivalent appears below it. The arithmetic is simple: going from Rials to Tomans drops one zero, so 100,000,000 Rials is 10,000,000 Tomans.

Question 4

What do the 100 Thousand, 1 Million and 10 Million buttons do?

Accepted Answer

They set the amount to that figure in one tap so you do not have to count zeros for common values. From there you can adjust the number by hand, and “Clear” empties the box.

Question 5

How do I copy the result?

Accepted Answer

There is a “Copy” button beside both outputs, the words and the figure. Press it once and paste into Word, Excel, a message or a form so nothing gets mistyped.

Question 6

Should a cheque be written in Rials or Tomans?

Accepted Answer

Use whichever unit is printed on the cheque itself, which for bank cheques is usually the Rial. Set the unit chip to match so the wording comes out with the right unit, then copy that line across.

Question 7

What is the difference between Toman and Rial?

Accepted Answer

The Rial is the official currency of Iran and the Toman is the unit people actually use. One Toman is 10 Rials, so going from Tomans to Rials adds a zero and the reverse drops one.

Question 8

What is the largest number I can convert?

Accepted Answer

Figures up to the trillions are written out, which is more than enough for cheques, invoices and contracts. Anything beyond that is reported with a clear message.

Question 9

Are Persian digits supported?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both Persian and Latin digits are read, so a figure copied from somewhere else can be pasted straight in.
